Today I began my journey by buying a Moleskine Notebook. That was not the end of the shopping spree of December 11th. Anticipating my organizational needs I have purchased four pens and those Post-it note thingies (Please see pic, I have no idea what these are called, nor have I the writing skills to describe them).
Since I spent about 78% of the day in the car, I really didn’t have time to think about this, I just thought this is a good way to go. I bough a calendar book, but I actually only really need the notebook style (it’s like a notebook, with small numbers at the top). It’s just an added bonus to have the calendar. So, here’s how I plan to use my Moleskine so I become a productivity and organization ninja (moreso than now, hijaaa)
First of all, I am thinking of color coding things (hence the four colors). A possible combination could be:
- Black: Notes
- Green: Calendar
- Blue: To-do lists
- Yellow-Gold weird color: General underlining important stuff
I plan on using the Post-it’s for sectioning, but there’s no great plan like the above for that. I would hate trying out one method that scratching it and going for another, so I am extra careful in my planning. If anyone has any good ideas, please do share.
Since I am trying to simplify my organization, I am thinking of using only 1 or 2 colors. This is supposed to be mobile, and I don’t take four colors with me all the time. Of course I could use the colors to divide to-do’s notes and so on, which can be done later, when I get back to somewhere with four colors. I will also probably integrate my index card idea into the Moleskine, since the book came with an awesome pocket inside to hold various treasures (thin treasures), such as index cards, notes, business cards and so on.
If you have any ideas, please comment or send them in a small capsule in the ocean, and if you seem to like Moleskine, check out my Moleskine Page for further posts and ideas.
