Welcome back to Hack Your Day!

Hi everyone, I’m so sorry for the huge downtime, I know I lost a lot of readers (and adsense income), but I’ve been a bit busy! My hosting company managed to loose all my data, which is their fault, but I didn’t have a backup (only files), which is mine, and I just didn’t have enough time to get this up and running.I got a new company up and running, I am now on completely new email accounts, we have multiple projects in the works, but it’s all good, much better than not having work!

Anyway, it seems Hack Your Day is back, but posting will not be twice a day for a while. I’ll be writing casually and I’ll see where it leads. I still have a lot of work to do, but I’ll try and get some quality articles done, rather 1 great one a week, than 1 short one a day.

For now I’m using this template I found, which is actually pretty cool, but I’ll be modifying it later, let me know if you have any comments. See you guys soon!

Welcome back…. Losing data is just plain yukkie and it doesn’t matter whose fault it is. Although I haven’t lost any data my website is still so 1999 so I hope to hear more about the template your using.

Actually my host is awesome (Bluehost), it’s the first problem I’ve had with them and they really were nice about it. I asked if I could sue for millions, but the support guy said not really :)

I’ll keep everyone posted on the templates :)

Have you ever had a look at the Atahualpa theme? Very cool.

    Hi AussieRodney!

I am aware of it, but since I am a web-developer by day (as opposed to being a blogger super-hero at night), I like to build my own themes myself. Since now I have my own company, I can make other people do the work for me, MWAHAHA.

As a side note, I think I tried it once and if I recall correctly I really liked the way it was set up, very flexible and easy to use. If you search for “top magazine style wordpress themes” in google you’ll find some more great ones!

    Thanks!

Hi Daniel – I found this website today (I think through someone’s blogroll), and really liked the quality of articles that you have in here. Bad to see that you had such a huge downtime. First thing that I did after reading this post – backed up my website. Hope to see more of your posts :)

    Thank you :)

Yes, everyone, back up your site!!! I actually moved my work stuff onto another account about a week before so no HUGE harm was done, very lucky!

Wow, that’s rough Daniel. While I never visited the website it self often, I kept up with everything through feed reader. Good luck getting things off the ground again and I’m looking forward to reading your new posts!

I have a lot of posts from hackyourday.com in my Google Reader, if you want? Could always export them so you can post them all again if you want. Get in touch with me if you are interest.
