Hack Your Day is a long established blog with an audience of tech savvy readers, interested in various topics related to productivity and online and desktop applications.

The blog had a long period of inactivity in 2009, but plans for a complete rebuild were in the works as of November 2009. The blog has since been completely rebuilt and rethought and is gradually gaining momentum again to take its place in the Alexa top 100.000 (once again), and to increase visits from regular, and first time users as well.

Since we are still at the beginning of the boom we want to see, we offer completely customizable ads for a very low price, so we can get some cash flow into the blog. This also means that if you buy ad spaces in advance, you are likely to get a much better deal for your money, since our contract will bind us to your ad, no matter how many visitors we have.

Types of Ads

We have a completely open mind, so feel free to contact us with any sort of idea. The only restriction we have is that your ad must be of high quality to blend into the site (we can help you design it), and what you advertise must also be of high quality. We have the following ad formats ready to go at any time, but we can design different formats and placements for you.

We welcome any other format suggestions or ideas for promotion on our site. If you are looking to promote a new product, a sponsor guest post might be a great way to introduce yourself to the public, and also get feedback. We would gladly publish one, or a series of guest posts, but our quality standards are much higher in this regard. The posts must be genuinely entertaining and or useful, and must promote relevant services or goods.

Paying for ads

On Hack Your Day you can pay per thousand impressions, or you can also reserve an ad space for a fixed amount of time. Please read more about our rates and policies below.

CPM Advertising

Through CPM advertising you can pay us for each 1,000 views of your advertisement, ensuring that you are paying for performance. Our rate is $0.5 per 1,000 impressions. We have our own tracker built in for ads which you can view by logging to Hack Your Days ad tracking admin, but we also have separate Google Analytics data to verify.

As of January, this means that to display your ad for a month will cost around $5. We expect to grow quite rapidly, since at its peak, Hack Your Day generated 10x as many pageviews as it does now.

Reserving an ad space

If you would like to get in on our ad deals early, you can also reserve an ad space for yourself. The cost of this depends heavily on the time you wish to reserve the space for. We will calculate the final amount based on our pageview projections. This means that reserving a space for one month, right now, would cost around $5.

We are looking to double our pageviews in the next 1.5 months, meaning that the cost of reserving a space for 2 months would cost $15 overall. The cost of reserving a space for three months is around $50.

As we progress and grow, are rates will rise, but so will the effectiveness of our ads, so please keep a lookout for updates to this page if you are looking for an ad placement.

Payment methods

Due to tax issues, we can only accept your payments via Paypal, or direct bank transfer. We are looking into a methods of paying by credit card directly, but until we can produce enough enough pageviews we probably won’t have the need to implement it.
